About PC Blend

Because of its strength and toughness, PC Blend is perfect for durable, functional 3D prints. Plus, the PC Blend has high-temperature resistance up to 113 °C / 235 °F. It is an excellent choice for printing mechanically or heat-stressed parts. Thanks to excellent mechanical resistance and good resistance to creep (cold flow), the prints can be used not just as prototypes, but directly as functional parts in production machinery. PC Blend is recommended for experienced 3D printer owners looking for a tough, durable material for the production of prototypes and functional parts, thermally and mechanically stressed components.

Printing Setup

Nozzle 275 ±10 °C

Heatbed 110±10 °C

Recommended Steel Sheet Satin

Basic Attributes

+High temperature resistance up to 113°C

+High impact and wear resistance (very strong and rigid material)

+Good dimensional stability in comparison with other PC filaments

+Prints don’t deform under pressure over time

+Good electrical insulting properties

+Styrene-free (non-toxic compared to ASA)

+Very low moisture absorption

-Large models have a tendeny to warp

Requires a high heatbed and nozzle temperatures

Produces minor odors during printing

Beginners tips & tricks

Prusament PC Blend is suitable for advanced users. If you are new to 3D printing, we recommend you start with easier-to-print materials such as PLA and PETG, then try advanced materials such as PC Blend.

You may encounter some issues related to shrinking (warping) of the material – especially when printing larger models. This effect is much less severe compared to other polycarbonates but still, even with the heatbed set to 110°C, the prints can shrink and warp, causing them to detach from the print bed. This issue can be eliminated by printing inside an enclosure or by adding a tall skirt around the object.

Notes

This PC Blend is made in-house by Prusa Research.

1.75 mm filament is manufactured with a precision of ±0.03 mm.

Prusament PC Blend has a new formula since 9. 6. 2021 The material density is now slightly lower than before, resulting in a minimal spool weight of 970 g. The approximate length of the filament is 330 m - the same length as the standard Prusament.
