Prusament PETG Magnetite 40% Grey 1kg
About PETG Magnetite 40% Grey
Prusament PETG Magnetite 40% Grey is a material with paramagnetic properties. This filament is suitable for making various electronic parts, such as switches, potentiometers, induction loops, electromagnetic shielding, etc. In hobby use, the material can be used for various tools that can be attached to a magnet. Another use can be found in art, design, and toys. Or, it can simply work as a weight.
Printing Setup
Nozzle270±5 °C Heatbed 100±10 °C Recommended Steel Sheet Textured / Satin Before printing, learn about print surface preparation in our dedicated article and material table.
Basic Attributes
Paramagnetic material
High density (heavy material)
Visually appealing matt black surface
Requires hardened nozzle
Lower layer-to-layer adhesion compared to pure PETG
Cannot be transformed into a permanent magnet under home conditions
Beginners tips & tricks
A hardened steel nozzle is necessary. The magnetite powder is a highly abrasive material and may damage brass nozzles. The Prusament PETG Magnetite 40% cannot gain truly magnetic properties at home conditions. In theory, it is possible to magnetize the powder, however, this would require an extremely strong magnetic field, which would require highly specialized equipment. You can find more in-depth printing tips in our article at blog.prusa3d.com and in our Material table.
Notes
Prusament PETG Magnetite 40% Grey is made in-house by Prusa Research.1.75 mm filament is manufactured with a precision of ±0.03 mm.T o dry the filament, please follow the instructions in our article.
